The Sound of Music 4K restoration

Director
Robert Wise
Certificate

Running Time
174 mins

Pull on your finest curtains and prepare to sing along: those bloody Von Trapps are back. Ex-nun Maria (Julie Andrews) pitches up in the Alps to become governess to the seven unruly children of widower Captain Von Trapp (Christopher Plummer). But the dastardly Nazis put paid to their idyllic rural frolicking. The winner of five Oscars (including Best Picture) back in 1966, Robert Wise‘s screen version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway musical remains one of the highest grossing films of all time when its taking are adjusted for inflation.

Now it’s back on screen in restored 4K format to rake in even more cash and provide audiences with another opportunity to warble along with the title song, plus Edelweiss, My Favourite Things, Climb Ev’ry Mountain, Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, etc., etc.
