'Orrible visions turn out to be real in this new horror from the creator of The Conjuring
Aretha Franklin biopic Respect is this week’s big release, opening in mainstream and arthouse cinemas. Horror enthusiasts get Malignant, the new one from Conjuring creator James Wan, while Copshop delivers all the gunplay that action fans could possibly require.
Down at the Arnolfini on Sunday, the Vans Film Festival offers an opportunity to see films about everything from IDLES to skateboarding. Admission is completely free, but you do need to reserve tickets in advance.
The Servant leads a strong batch of reissues that also includes all three films in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
The event cinema highlight is sobering documentary Eating Our Way to Extinction, which reveals all the stuff the food industry would rather you didn’t know about the environmental imapct of all that corpse-chomping.
