Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins

Director
Robert Schwentke
Certificate
12A
Running Time
121 mins

After G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which came out in 2013 and so is positively ancient history by franchise standards, Hasbro’s G.I. Joe toy and comic franchise gets a reboot with this origin story centred on the Snake Eyes character, played this time by Henry Golding.

Lukewarm reviews and a poor box office performance in the US means we may be spared yet more of this stuff, though there are apparently plans to knock out a hybrid G.I. Joe/Transformers flick at some point to unite these two Hasbro properties in an orgy of merchandising.
