Street art appears of famous artist
A stencil of one of the world’s most famous artists has appeared in the city in which he was born.
Damien Hirst was born in Bristol but grew up in Leeds before making his name as an artist in London with pieces including animals suspended in formaldehyde.
The stencil of Hirst by Stewy is on the side of the Cabin next to Prince Street bridge.
Stewy’s previous subjects have included Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Martin Parr and Tricky.
In Bristol, a sculpture by Hirst has previously been exhibited on the balcony of the RWA and a collaboration with another Bristol-born artist, Banksy, featured in the latter’s show at Bristol Museum.
