Fatal hit and run victim named as Dan Hickey

The victim of a hit and run found dead on a Clifton street at the weekend has been named as Daniel Hickey.

Daniel, from Bishopston, was found outside The Richmond pub on Gordon Road at 6.45am on Saturday by a member of the public.

A post-mortem examination concluded he died from multiple injuries consistent with being involved a collision with a car.

A third person has now been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police announced on Tuesday afternoon that a 22-year-old man attended a police station on Monday night and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Two other people, a 39-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, remain on bail until September 9 after being arrested on suspicion of the same offence.

A car seized after the incident is currently being examined by forensic specialists.
