Ram-raiders target shop at petrol station
Ram-raiders smashed their way into a shop in the early hours of Friday morning.
A police cordon remains in place around the Tesco Express next to the Esso garage on Henleaze Road.
Burglars struck the shop in Henleaze at around 12.55am, with two men stealing what police describe as “a large amount of tobacco products” while a third man waited outside.
The black Ford Fiesta used in the burglary was found abandoned on Twenty Acres Road in Brentry about 20 minutes’ later.
Police have released descriptions of two of the men with the first wearing a balaclava, a black top with a white stripe across the chest and arms, black tracksuit bottoms, and black trainers; and the second man also wearing a balaclava, a blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and white shoes.
Avon & Somerset Police neighbourhood policing team inspector Chris Green said: “We understand incidents like this are concerning to the community and we would like to assure them we have launched a thorough investigation into this incident.
“A number of enquiries have already been carried out and we will be using our resources to bring to justice those responsible.
“We would appeal to anybody with dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage from Henleaze Road at around the time of the incident, as well as any similar footage from Twenty Acres Road where the vehicle was abandoned.
“Anybody with other information, no matter how small or trivial it may seem, are also asked to contact us to assist with our enquiries.”
