My Bristol Favourites: Duncan Robertson

By Martin Booth  Saturday Apr 8, 2023

Duncan Robertson is the co-owner and head chef of Bokman.

The authentic Korean restaurant in Kingsdown was opened in 2019 by Duncan and his wife, Kyu Jeon, who met while both working in a two-Michelin star restaurant in Paris.

Duncan is one of the panellists for this year’s EatDrink24/7 guide, which will be published in June and will once again be full of recommendations from hospitality industry professionals across the city on their favourite places to eat and drink.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

These are Duncan’s top-five Bristol favourites:

Ka:Fei

Ka:Fei serves the best coffee in town. They always ask if you want your milky drink hot, which for laypeople like me is essential. Super friendly baristas and a great location on the centre.”

Nice Spice

“Quality roast meat. Nice Spice is the best Chinese food in Bristol for me.”

Farro

“This place will always be on any best of list for me, wherever I am on the planet. Everything in Farro is pure quality and makes me wish I lived on St James Barton roundabout.”

Wilsons

Wilsons is another stalwart of my recommendations for EatDrink24/7. This Redland restaurant just gets stronger and stronger. Lovely team, great ethos, ridiculously good value and pure, delicious food.”

Cave

Cave on Gloucester Road is Bristol’s best wine shop with some really hard to come by bottles, and great knowledge and friendly staff.”
