Ten-pin bowling and crazy golf planned for Harbourside

By Martin Booth  Sunday Jan 26, 2020

Strikes and holes in one could soon be coming to Bristol’s Harbourside.

Ten-pin bowling lanes and three crazy golf courses could take over a trio of neighbouring units on Millennium Promenade between Millennium Square and the Harbour Inlet.

Over the years, the units opposite Pizza Express have seen the likes of M&S Simply Food, Hooters, a party shop, restaurant, cafe and sports shop come and go.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!

Plans for the scheme are due to be submitted to Bristol City Council in February, with bowling on the ground floor and golf on the mezzanine.

The former Triathlon Shop and Beyond the Wall cafe is currently being used as a video game arcade pop-up, while The Cuban restaurant closed in 2019 and remains empty.

The third unit – nearest Millennium Square – that is part of the plans has never previously been occupied.

A poster from Canada Life on the windows of the affected buildings says: “The proposals seek to contribute towards the council’s aspirations for Explore Lane… which is located on a ‘Leisure Use Frontage’ in the Bristol Central Areas Plan.”
