Jeremy Corbyn to speak at St Paul’s ‘festival of radical politics’

By Betty Woolerton  Saturday May 20, 2023

Jeremy Corbyn will be speaking at a festival of socialist politics, arts and culture in Bristol, it has been announced.

The former Labour Party leader is attending Bristol Transformed to speak about the right to food, its production and sustainability, as well as to sharing jam-making tips, under a talk titled ‘In the kitchen with Jeremy Corbyn’.

Taking place in June, the weekend-long festival is a grassroots and volunteer-led event that brings together activists, trade unionists, politicians, thinkers and “anyone interested in left-wing politics”.

Announcing the news on Instagram, @briztransformed wrote: “The former Labour leader and founder of the Peace & Justice Project – the man who has inspired millions of people, whose election resurrected the British socialist movement.

“Jeremy Corbyn will be joining us for a chat about the right to food, its production and sustainability, as well as taking questions from the audience on a wide-range of topics and demonstrating his top tips for jam-making!”

With a theme of ‘Everything For Everyone’, 2023’s agenda has a focus on on political education and empowering workers.

“Our society produces enough to provide everyone with a comfortable life: so why doesn’t it, and how can we build a better world?,” organisers wrote.

2023’s Bristol Transformed takes place from June 16 to 18 at Lost Horizon, Malcom X Centre, Docklands Youth Centre and the People’s Republic of Stokes Croft.
