Bulgarian cosmetics chain opens shop in Bristol

By Maddie Clarke-Newell  Tuesday Aug 23, 2022

A chain normally found in Bulgaria has opened its doors to Bristol.

Located on Cheltenham Road, Casyopea is a bath and body shop selling handmade candles, diffusers, essential oils and freshly-cut soaps.

The shop is owned by Radoslava Sinigerova, from Bulgaria, who wanted to bring the eastern European products to our city.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!

Speaking about Casopeya, which is named after a star constellation, Radoslava said: “I want to help people, help them take care of themselves and give them a chance to experience our Bulgarian products.”

Radoslava has owned the same business in Bulgaria for ten years and described her new venture to Cheltenham Road in the city’s independent district optimistically.

“Positivity and resilience is key,” said the shopkeeper, adding “once people try our products they will always come back”.

Radoslava said: “It’s important to buy from independent business, everything is art in this case and I feel it is a lot more personal when you buy from the owner of the shop and the independent business.”

Looking to the future, the business owner hopes to run the business and return to a career in teaching to act as a role model for her ten-year-old daughter.
