Festival of Nature is back this June – and bigger than ever
Experience nature in new ways with everything from the hidden life of trees to the wonders of nature at night at this summer’s Festival of Nature from June 6 – 14.
There are over 160 free events and activities to get stuck into this year, this time shining a spotlight on everything trees and woodlands do for us.

Wild Weekend will take over Millennium Square from 13–14 June with live music, parades, stalls and crafts. This time, there’s lots for younger children, with guest appearances from CBeebies’ presenters Andy Day with his famed dinosaur raps and Aaron Roach Bridgeman from I Can Grow It answering children’s big gardening questions. There will also be a new ‘How-to’ tent with hands-on workshops and interactive talks, where you can learn how to care for our natural world in different ways.

Weekday highlights in the city include woodland trails, lunchtime explorations and insect identifications. Uncover what happens to our wildlife after dark with events including a NightTime Safari at Redcatch Community Garden, featuring UV wildlife exploration and night-time photography, alongside a woodland foraging walk in Stoke Park and an online evening eco-poetry workshop.

Elsewhere, Pride in Nature (6-7 June) at WWT Slimbridge will celebrate the diversity of the natural world with queer ecology walks, drag performances and a silent disco.
There really is something for everyone! Tickets are free but booking ahead is recommended with lots of events already selling out.
