Bristol’s annual trans pride march was a colourful display of flags, fishnets and the fight for trans equality.
“While Bristol is broadly accepting, we’re living in a crisis for trans people,” said Hafren Jones, from Trans Pride Bristol.
“Our right to transition is constantly challenged and we face regular discrimination in employment, housing, healthcare and education settings. This has to change.
“We will not be intimidated out of public life, and take the opportunity in Bristol to celebrate Trans Pride to assert our right to transition, to public life and to even celebrate being trans as a whole.
“It’s also a chance for our community to take stock and figure out what’s needed next for our collective liberation.”
