Wayland’s Yard to open first Bristol cafe

By Martin Booth  Monday Dec 14, 2020

The team at Wayland’s Yard say that they are “in the business of putting smiles on faces”.

With cafes already in Worcester and Birmingham since 2016, they are now setting their sights to put smiles on Bristol faces.

Leaving their Midlands roots for the first time, Wayland’s Yard are due to open their first Bristol cafe in 2021.

“We cultivate an environment where people who care come to work each day, to provide a little lift to those around them,” say Wayland’s Yard on their website.

“We just so happen to deliver proper coffee & proper food, without compromise. Coronavirus doesn’t change any of this. All it changes is how we go about it.”

Wayland’s Yard in Bristol is due to open on Whiteladies Road in the unit close to the BBC offices previously occupied by Brew.

Brew, which opened in 2014, had been purchased by the Department of Coffee & Social Affairs, which entered liquidation in July.

Wayland’s Yard say that they “take great pride in being a place for the whole community to gather and do their thing. Serving up proper coffee and proper food to the good people of Worcester and Birmingham is just a part of what we do.”

They added: “Our aim has always been to create friendly spaces that can be utilised by everyone and we mean it when we say that absolutely everyone is welcome.”
