Oh my, these are Bristol’s best pies
Amy Symonds has worked in hospitality for 20 years including in Michelin-starred restaurants and being the co-owner of a cafe, but after recently being hospitalised, she has taken things back to basics with her new baking business.
Amy’s love of food returned after volunteering for the Mazi Project, with her new solo venture being a return to what she enjoys doing best.
Oh My! Pie Co. promises “vintage vibes and modern pies” including sweet cherry, Key lime and passion fruit meringue; with each one paired with a different coffee at Radical Roasters on St Mark’s Road in Easton.
Amy spotted a gap in the market for American-style pies in Bristol, with the pastry chef doing most of the prep at her home in Brislington before transporting them to Radical Roasters where they are all available to enjoy by the slice for £4.50, as well as being for sale online.
The cherry pie is already a firm favourite; with this particular pie paired with Radical Roasters’ house espresso Granny’s House made with coffee beans from Colombia.
The deep-filled sour cherry pie has a flaky crust and is packed with sun-ripened cherries, “simmered until they reach a thick, jammy perfection with just a hint of ginger and lemon zest”.
Key lime meanwhile features a crunchy buttery biscuit base, a smooth custard filling made with Key lime juice, and is decorated with spirals of toasted meringue and fresh lime wedges.

“It’s super early days but I’m happy with how the product has developed,” Amy told Bristol24/7 on a recent morning in Radical Roasters.
“I’ve never made them before so it’s been fun for me.
“With cooking, even though I’ve been in it for 20 years, you’re always learning and I’ve really found my passion again.”
Amy was originally inspired by American pies during a trip to Texas and after trying a few of the pies, thought that she could make them better back in Bristol.
The Oh My! Pie logo has designed by Matt Manson, the husband of Radical Roasters owner Cat O’Shea, with Amy’s girlfriend Katie Ford painting the pinup on the pie menu who is licking her fingers; just what you will be doing after the first bite of these perfect pies.
