New Scandi-style cafe serving speciality coffee opens
Speciality coffee has arrived in a small cafe on Gloucester Road in a big way.
Mød has a carefully curated menu of coffee, with five different single origins from Brazil, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Kenya all available as both espresso or filter options.
Pride of place on the counter is a Slayer coffee machine made in Seattle, with freshly baked treats also on display.

‘Choose a coffee’ says the menu at Mød, with the beans here roasted by Dark Arts in Hackney and Obadiah in Edinburgh.
Each has its own tasting notes from Cloud Forest’s peach yoghurt and sweet cherry to Life After Death’s hazelnut and milk chocolate.
Then it’s a choice of what style of coffee you want, with drinks served in black cups and on black saucers made by notNeutral in Sri Lanka – the same company who make the cups at Full Court Press in the Old City.

Not an inch of space is wasted at Mød, with 16 seats available for sitting in almost opposite the Royal Oak pub, in what was previously Ritual cafe and what for many years was a mortgage advisers.
On the first weekend of opening, customers were already waiting for seats to become free.
Once sat down in this cosy new Scandi-style cafe, they could peruse the menu and go on a worldwide journey through speciality coffee from Gloucester Road.
