Baking business to open first shop
A small independent baking business is opening its first shop.
Drizzle is named after founder Francesca Grout’s grandmother who taught her how to bake and whose favourite cake was a lemon drizzle.
Already well-known from trading at markets across Bristol and further afield, Drizzle will soon be opening its first permanent premises on Christmas Steps in what was most recently Dareshack and before that Chinese takeaway the Rice Box.

Francesca, 29, who lives in Bedminster, was a a primary school teacher before founding Francesca’s Fancies which later became Drizzle.
“Drizzle is a brand which prioritises quality ingredients and produces fresh cakes with a home-made feel,” Francesca wrote on Instagram when introducing herself.
Drizzle is due to open on 4 Christmas Steps in the autumn.
