Bristol Rebel Film Festival 2019
Inaugural two-day film festival, with screenings, food, booze & Q&As
This week, a feminist legal crusader takes on recently disgraced Liam Neeson (in a snow plough). That’s right: On the Basis of Sex (go here for our review) is the awards season straggler, which is up against Mr. Neeson’s latest vengeance thriller, Cold Pursuit. If the former is more your bag, you may wish to know that DAVAR Film is also screening the superior Ruth Bader Ginsburg documentary RBG at the Orpheus on Wednesday.
Elsewhere, we have more previews of Stephen Merchant’s Fighting with My Family, plus The Bristol Rebel Film Festival, the start of a new silent movies’n’live music night, Bristol Film Festival’s screening of Breakfast at Tiffany’s at the RWA and a whole lot more.
In case you haven’t noticed: it’s the Oscar ceremony on Sunday. You’ll find extra screenings of all the bookies’ faves from Monday onwards in anticipation of a further box office bonanza. Oh, and the Watershed has finally snared two screenings of Roma.
