Lord of the Rings trilogy director Peter Jackson promises to bring WWI to life “in a way never seen before” with this new documentary that makes extensive use of cutting-edge digital technology. He’s been given access to original footage from the Imperial War Museums’ extensive archive, much of it previously unseen.

This has been colourised, converted to 3D and transformed with modern production techniques to bring out striking new levels of detail, and is presented alongside BBC interviews with servicemen who fought in the conflict.
