In yet another of those dramatic awards season physical transformations, a completely unrecognisable Christian Bale is slathered in prosthetics to become Dick Cheney (you remember – George W. Bush’s VP) in this political comedy/drama from The Big Short director Adam McKay, which emerged as an early Oscar frontrunner with six Golden Globe nominations.

Everybody’s in on this one, including Amy Adams as Dick’s wife Lynne, Sam Rockwell as George W. Bush, Eddie Marsan as Paul Wolfowitz, Tyler Perry as Colin Powell and Bill Pullman as Nelson Rockefeller. Hang on, there’s someone missing. Where’s Mr. Awards Season, aka Steve Carell? Oh there he is, playing Donald Rumsfeld. Go here for our review.
