‘Blowin’ a Hooley’: Fitty Gomash are bringing the Ceilidh this Christmas
Self-described as a “rabble-rousing 8-piece” Fitty Gomash are a South West folk band with an abundantly clear mission: “to bring people together to shake the floorboards and rattle the rafters”.
Their name derives from Orkney Gaelic, and means: “to keep your feet warm through dancing” – which is emblematic of their riotous music.
After selling out their series of dates in 2024, the band will return to The Jam Jar for the weekend before Christmas with a festive edition of their legendary ceilidh: Blowin’ a Hooley.

With adult ceilidhs over consecutive nights on December 20-21, they are also bringing back their family version on Saturday afternoon.
Both evening events will open with “rowdy carols around the piano” – and all comers are invited to adorn themselves in their “festive best”, not forgetting those all-important dancing shoes.
Blowin’ a Hooley, A Christmas Ceilidh (16+) is at The Jam Jar on December 20-21 at 8pm, with an additional Family Edition on Saturday at 2pm. Tickets are available at www.headfirstbristol.co.uk. Follow @fittygomash for updates.
