Impermanence Spring/Summer programme to feature Antonia Franceschi, Bullyache and Alessandro Marzotto-Levy
Fresh from hosting their inaugural festival of dance, This Body // 1, followed by the internationally renowned sellout dance-theatre show from George Orange and Jo Fong, The Rest of Our Lives, in April, Impermanence have announced a busy spring and summer programme of performance at The Mount Without.
First to grace the stage at the historic venue will be UNCAGED+, billed as “a night of spectacular dance by the award-winning artistic director of New York Theatre Ballet, Antonia Franceschi”.
As well as ASYLUM, commissioned by Vildwerk, the show will feature the debut performances of a brand-new ballet piece inspired by the lives of American abstract expressionist painters, Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner.

The piece was developed with composer Claire van Kampen, and will feature six dancers, including Impermanence co-directors Joshua Ben-Tovim and Roseanna Anderson.
On the opening two nights of the five-night run, Royal Ballet star Edward Watson MBE will be performing in a new piece choreographed by Franceschi.
A month later, artist duo Courtney Tylor Deyn and Jacob Samuel – together known as BULLYACHE will bring their avant-garde piece Who Hurt You? to The Mount Without.
Staging “the last performance of an aged musician”, it’s a show “hosted by a drag icon, alongside her embittered ensemble”, they explain; “all figures in fading glory”.
Blending biographical and autobiographical material, Who Hurt You? is performed by BULLYACHE alongside fellow dancers Sam Dilkes and Frank Yang, composer-performer Magnus Westwell, and drag pianist, Barbs.
“Blending hyper-theatre and pop culture with a stark, sculptural approach to dance”, the company creates “a maximalist vision teetering on the edge of chaos and collapse”.

Bullyache, Who Hurt You?
Moving into June, Alessandro Marzotto-Levy will be back in Bristol with his brand-new solo performance, TONY, which he describes as “a physical act of resistance to the neglect, violence and fear acted upon our planet and people”.
Now working as a dancer and choreographer in Europe, Marzotto-Levy was one of the founding members of Impermanence.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting the UK Premiere of his new show”, say Ben-Tovim and Anderson. “Don’t miss this gorgeous performer in an explosive new solo.”
