Comedy / Drag King
Kathy Maniura brings Fringe smash ‘The Cycling Man’ to Bristol
Award-winning character comedian Kathy Maniura has won fans for her viral videos – including several made in collaboration with fellow comic Rosalie Minnitt.
Performing comedy in various guises for a decade, it was only in 2019 that Maniura first began creating solo characters.
In her debut Edinburgh Fringe show Objectified (2023) which earned her a slew of award nominations, she brought to life a series of everyday objects, including “an exhausting paper straw, a desperate electric scooter and a teeny tiny sexy little airpod”.
Two years later, she returned to Edinburgh with the smash-hit drag king show The Cycling Man – which will visit Bristol on May 7 as part of a ‘Tour de UK’.
“Middle-aged and newly single, The Cycling Man has spent the salary of an NHS nurse in Decathlon and he’s on the verge of a breakdown”, we’re warned.
“Get to know this absurd and deeply flawed man as he gets to know himself.”
