The Gaffe hosts extended Edinburgh Fringe preview season
Fresh from welcoming work-in-progress shows from comics including Amy Matthews, Rob Copland, Ted Hill and Bristol royalty Jayde Adams, The Gaffe’s extended Edinburgh Fringe preview season is set to continue until the end of July.
An eclectic mix of acts will be warming up their comedy creations at the award-winning city centre comedy club, or its sister venue The Robin Hood.
They include Milo Edwards with Catamaran, a new hour inspired by the revelations unearthed in a box of old letters found in his late mum’s wardrobe.

Multi-award-winning Australian comic Lou Wall will preview their latest show Where Are All The Tall Grandmas? on June 28, while a double bill at the same time will give audiences a chance to see the latest from both Raj Poojara and Roger O’Sullivan.
Musical comedy from Amy Webber will be followed by Maia Tassalini’s debut solo show, I Was 22 and Stunning. James Trickey and Ted Milligan’s Burger and a Pint will showcase their brand of quickfire sketch comedy, and the much-touted Paul Hilleard will bring his debut hour about growing up in South Wales to The Gaffe on July 6.

Andy Field explores the nature of ambition, success and missed opportunity in Giddy Up, while Sharon Wanjohi questions whether in fact self-delusion might be the key to unlocking A Perfect Life.
Chelsea Birkby shares an evening with Matt Hobs, as respectively, the pair address control, and “the eternal question: What are better, badgers or hedgehogs?”

And, in a show about which comedy reviewer Tim Harding said “I was in danger of throwing up from laughing”, Sam Eley brings Basil Crumbwick to the stage in Soul Sewage; a show likely to live long in the memory.
Harry Allmark is the founder and creative director at The Gaffe. “Previews and work-in-progress shows have such great energy”, he says, “and as well as being great fun are a chance to see top-tier comedians at a lower price than during the Fringe or when they’re on tour.
“It’s going to be a great few months for comedy in Bristol!”
