Simon Amstell to play three nights at Bristol Old Vic
Following a sellout five-week London residency, the comedian, author, screenwriter and filmmaker Simon Amstell brings his acclaimed show I Love It Here to Bristol Old Vic on July 24, for the first of three nights.
Bristol is one of only seven selected UK cities featuring on this 2026 tour, after which the show will transfer to the US, culminating in runs in New York and LA.
Characterised for his blend of confessional, raw standup, Amstell’s previous work on stage has included explorations of intimacy, love, sexuality and connection, anxiety and depression, shame, ageing, and his various transcendent experiences on magic mushrooms and ayahuasca.

Billed as “funnier, truer and more healing than anything ever before or after”, this new show finds him in love, and at peace.
But then into this harmonious picture, a party invitation arrives for Amstell – from none other than Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio; “the man who first ignited his teenage desire”.
