AI-powered health tech company to receive major funding boost
A Bristol-founded social enterprise that uses AI-powered technology to support people with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions has received a major funding boost.
Good Boost has secured a £200,000 investment from the regional impact investor Bristol & Bath Regional Capital’s (BBRC) City Funds to expand its AI-powered technology offerings.
The company uses AI and data gathered from apps to design software and hardware to facilitate in-person, community-led exercise sessions and virtual sessions at home to support people with MSK-related conditions.
According to reports, MSK conditions account for 30 per cent of GP consultations in England and cost the UK more than 30 million lost working days annually.

The AI-powered tools developed by the company have been hailed for helping people with MSK conditions in pain reduction and improving overall health.
The funding has enabled Good Boost to partner with 27 venues across the wider Bristol region, reaching an estimated 155 participants per venue each year, and to extend outreach in deprived areas.
Chief executive Ben Wilkins said the backing would allow Good Boost to widen its community impact. He said: “We are delighted to receive this investment from BBRC, at a time when many people are struggling with their day to day lifestyle and really in need of help.
“The investment will significantly help us expand our practices, in line with community venues, to provide sophisticated guided support to those individuals struggling with MSK conditions, as well as providing a sense of community support.”

He said: “We are immensely proud to support Good Boost with its innovative approach to using AI for community health.
“This investment lines up perfectly with our mission to foster social impact, by enabling Good Boost to enhance the wellbeing of people across the Bristol region, particularly those affected by musculoskeletal conditions.”
Good Boost’s peer-led model not only supports patients but also provides additional revenue opportunities for community venues.
