A bizarre, trippy Japanese curio from 1977 in which a little girl takes her friends to visit her aunt deep in the forest. What she doesn’t realise is that the aunt is dead and her house is haunted. The nippers are promptly picked off one-by-one in mysterious circumstances. Apparently, the story was dreamed up by the director’s seven-year-old daughter.

It’s back on screen as part of the ‘shed’s very welcome July Haunted Houses Sunday brunch season to complement the release of Hereditary.
