A Marie Curie biopic with a female director and Rosamund Pike doing the boffinry certainly ticks all the Hidden Figures F-rating boxes.

Alas, however, you need more than good intentions to make a great film. Persepolis director Marjane Satrapi‘s drama was described as ‘toxic’ by The Guardian, whose reviewer considered it “a stuffy and patronising drama that does a great disservice to its undeniably fascinating subject”.
