Bristol-based film maker and male mental health activist Ben Akers‘ documentary tells the story of his childhood best friend, who took his own life after suffering poor mental health.

The film also takes a wider look at what is described as the UK’s male mental health epidemic by soliciting the views of former rugby pro Danny Sculthorpe, Calm CEO Simon Gunning and Movember co-founder Justin Coghlan, plus more than 100 other ordinary men. The Watershed’s screening is part of the Freedom of Mind festival and will be followed by a Q&A with director Ben Akers hosted by Elias Williams, filmmaker and founder of MANDEM.
