Generation Wealth

Director
Lauren Greenfield
Certificate
18
Running Time
106 mins

Remember The Queen of Versailles? Lauren Greenfield‘s documentary about that ghastly super-wealthy American family who fell foul of the 2008 crash was a hugely entertaining slice of cinematic schadenfreude.

Now she’s back with another pot-shot at all the idiot tycoon-worshipping and celebrity narcissism that blight modern life. Irresistible, huh? Except that reviews of this bling porn doc have been decidedly mixed, thanks to its diffuse approach and contrived happy ending. Why the 18 cert? Apparently, it’s mainly to do with references to self-harm, eating disorders and suicide, which have now seemingly replaced sex’n’violence as taboos from which da yoof must be protected.
