Doc’n Roll Festival: Betty – They Say I’m Different + Q&A

Director
Phil Cox
Certificate
TBA
Running Time
52 mins

Pioneering funk’n’soul queen, Black Power goddess and self-styled ‘nasty gal’ Betty Davis, who was married to Miles Davis for about five minutes (and is credited with introducing him to psychedelic rock), didn’t achieve much commercial success back in the day but was hugely controversial among conservative types for her raunchy stage show. Then she disappeared. Phil Cox‘s documentary tells her intriguing story.

This screening is part of the Doc’n Roll Festival and is followed by a Q&A with the film’s editor.
