Bristol Palestine Film Festival 2019: The Apollo of Gaza

Director
Nicolas Wadimoff
Certificate
TBA
Running Time
79 mins

Back in the summer of 2013, a 2000 year old statue of Apollo was hauled ashore in the nets of a fisherman from Gaza. Then it promptly disappeared. Increasingly wild conspiracy theories about what had happened to it were soon circulating.

Filmmaker Nicolas Wadimoff sets out to get to the bottom of the mystery in a documentary that takes many a wild twist and turn as it reflects on the line between truth and lie, myth and reality. This screening is part of the Bristol Palestine Film Festival.
