Another of those forgotten stars of the silent era, Laura La Plante is on fine form in this domestic comedy, playing a wife who’s so certain that her husband is about to receive a pay rise that she starts spending the extra loot. The supporting cast includes Hedda Hopper, who went on to become a legendary Hollywood gossip columnist.

This Slapstick screening is introduced by film historian and Academy Award winner Kevin Brownlow and features live piano accompaniment by Daan van den Hurk.
