Running Time
70 mins

The Talmadge sisters were huge stars back in the silent era, but are mostly forgotten today. Constance Talmadge specialised in comedy, and this 1924 flick is her best romcom. She plays an American heiress, wary of being romanced for her wealth.  In London, she falls ill and an impoverished British aristocrat (Paul Menford) pretends to be a doctor to woo her.

Lucy Porter introduces this Slapstick screening, which feature live piano accompaniment by John Sweeney.
