Dodgeball and We’re the Millers director Rawson Marshall Thurber teams up with busy, bankable Dwayne Johnson for more of the star’s patented action lunkery. Having taken the lead role in this generation’s Earthquake, San Andreas, our hero now does the Towering Inferno thing as a unipedal (no, really) FBI veteran who assesses security for skyscrapers.
Naturally, he also lives in the tallest and, allegedly, safest building in Hong Kong, where he’s equipped with the mandatory all-American family. When the skyscraper is attacked by terrorists, the poor fella finds himself framed for their dastardly deed while his family face certain death in the resulting conflagration a gazillion floors up. Can our hero clear his name, collar the bad guys, and save his spouse and nippers while dodging all the perils that modern CGI can throw at him?
