Great Bristol Run extends partnership with Bristol Sport
The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run has extended its partnership with Bristol Sport for 2026, with runners taking part in the half-marathon and 10k events to raise funds and awareness for the group’s community foundations.
Team representatives from Bristol Sport will also be on hand to encourage younger runners taking part in the Junior and Mini event on May 9 – the day before the 10k and half-marathon.
The Robins Foundation is the charitable arm of Bristol City Football Club, using the power of football to improve lives across Bristol; while the Bristol Bears Foundation is the rugby club’s award-winning charity, dedicated to tackling the impacts of inequality and supporting healthier, stronger, and more connected communities.
Bristol Sport Foundation also has a long-term commitment to use the power of sport and physical activity to inspire young people, families and communities to lead active, healthy and happy lives.
Great Run Company CEO, Paul Foster, said: “The Bristol Sport community foundations do incredible work that closely fits with our own efforts to inspire young people through positive, inclusive opportunities to get active.
“The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run is a chance for fans to represent their club and raise money for these fantastic causes.”
Bristol Sport Foundation interim CEO, Lisa Knights, added: “We’re proud to be partnering with the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run.
“The event is always a highlight in the Bristol sporting calendar and being able to offer dedicated spaces for our runners to raise money for Bristol Sport Foundation is vital to our fundraising programme.
“This year we hope to raise a record amount, with more than 30 runners taking part.
“The funds raised will go directly to our Forever Sport and Project Take-Off programmes; programmes that are designed to help children get more active and have more opportunity to access sport and physical activity in some of the most deprived areas of our city.
“Thank you to everyone who is running and raising money for us. Your efforts and your donations make a huge difference!”
It comes as places have now fully sold out for both the half-marathon and the 10k.
But there does still remain a limited number of charity places remaining for both races, and entries remain open for the Junior and Mini event.
