Football fans help get Farm fighting fit again

By Martin Booth  Monday Aug 4, 2025

Bristol Manor Farm will be taking on Mangotsfield United in an FA Cup replay on Tuesday evening at their home ground.

But the game at the Creek can only go ahead after an extraordinary effort following a despicable act of vandalism.

In the early hours of July 26, a car was driven onto the pitch at Manor Farm’s ground in Sea Mills and deliberately set alight, destroying a section of the playing surface as well as goalposts and nets.

“What should have been a joyful home fixture day quickly became one of shock and heartbreak for our entire community,” said a club spokesperson.

A crowdfunder was quickly set up and soon raised its target of £6,000 thanks to more than 200 donations to get the Farm fighting fit again.

Writing on social media on Monday afternoon, Manor Farm said: “We’re pleased to confirm that following emergency temporary works after last week’s incident, we’ll be returning to The Creek tomorrow.

“A big thank you to everyone involved in getting us back home so quickly.”
