My Bristol Favourites: Naomi Davis

By Bristol24/7  Friday Jun 30, 2017

Naomi Davis is the St Paul’s Carnival event manager, charged with kick starting the organisation’s community engagement and fundraising programme this year in preparation for its return for its 50th anniversary event in 2018. Naomi, who is Bristol born and bred, ran the carnival children’s area from 2010 to 2014 and has regular shows on Ujima Radio and BBC Radio Bristol.

Here are Naomi’s top-five Bristol favourites:

Malcolm X Centre

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

The Malcolm X Centre offers the chance for the African Caribbean community to engage with wider Bristol. It holds a special place in my heart as I have attended workshops, courses, fashion shows, dinners and much more at this venue and it’s at the heart of St Paul’s Carnival. It’s a community hub that provides a unique service.”

Blaise Castle

“I like to walk and explore nature and Blaise Castle is the perfect location to do all of that. It’s tranquil and the perfect place to have a great day out with the family.”

Felix Road Adventure Playground

“As a mother with a young child it’s always great to find a venue that offers a safe play for children and we enjoy going to Felix Road Adventure Playground. They are always so welcoming and have a wide range of activities every day for the children. They offer lunch and snacks at affordable prices and have a brilliant all year round programme.”

M Shed

“I’m interested in the history of Bristol and I find the M Shed offers an interesting and diverse range of topics to engage with for people of all ages. It encapsulates the ethos of Bristol and all its residents in one building.”

Stokes Croft

“I’m a regular at many places on Stokes Croft as it offers world food, entertainment, graffiti and so much more. It has quite rightly become one of the fastest growing areas on the Bristol nightlife scene. “
