By Bristol24/7  Saturday Jul 21, 2018

NHS worker by day, dance teacher, choreographer and performer by night, Emily Holloway recently organised Strictly Southmead which helped raise more than £7,000 for Southmead Hospital Charity.

Emily says that she has “a passion for injecting happiness into people’s lives by creating exciting opportunities to perform for charity, or just to improve individual wellbeing”. Find out more at www.dancebristol.com.

Here are Emily’s top-five Bristol favourites:

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!

The Victoria Rooms

“I love the Victoria Rooms, or more specifically the steps and fountains outside them. It is one of the most picturesque and iconic places in Bristol, where I have had the privilege to perform a Top Hat-esque dance routine.”

Canford Park

Canford Park in Westbury-on-Trym is the only park in Bristol with a trapeze (as far as I’m aware); a brilliant activity that should be more widely taken up by the people of Bristol!”

Southmead Hospital

“This may sound odd, as nobody would choose to be in a hospital would they? But the incredible staff at Southmead Hospital, along with the beautiful architecture, art and musical volunteers make it a magical place.”

The Lansdown

The Lansdown in Clifton has the friendliest staff and the best beer garden of any pub in Bristol. Go there to enjoy regular live music and film nights on the big screen, surrounded by fairy lights and cosy outdoor heaters.”

The Clifton Observatory

“I spent many hours of fun as a child sliding down the slippery slope near the Clifton Observatory, and jumping up and down on the metal grate in the Giant’s Cave looking over the Avon Gorge.”
