Man charged over fatal motorcycle collision

A man has been charged with dangerous driving and drink driving following the fatal collision between a van a motorcycle on Bath Road on Monday.

Sam Bailey, 29, of no fixed abode, has also been charged with causing death by driving whilst uninsured, at a hearing at Bristol Magistrates’ Court.

The motorcylist who died in the collision at 5.15am on Monday has been identified as Melanie Miles, 42, from Clevedon.

Bailey has been remanded in custody and is due at Bristol Crown Court on July.

Melanie Miles was killed in the collision on the A4 on Monday morning
