Motorbike crash victim identified
The victim of a fatal collision between a motorcycle and a van has been identified as Melanie Miles, 42, from Clevedon.
Police released details as they launched an appeal for witnesses of the collision on Bath Road near the Three Lamps junction on Monday morning.
At 5.15am a Citroen Berlingo van struck a motorcycle before colliding with a second van.
The driver of the Citroen, a 29-year-old man from Bristol, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit. He remains in custody.
The road was closed until 11.30am whilst collision investigators worked at the scene.
Traffic in Bristol was gridlocked while the key commuter route was closed.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or any of the vehicles prior to the incident to call 101, quoting crime reference number CI-130/15.
