Bristol Charity Advent Calendar 2025, day 23: SARSAS
SARSAS has a vision of a world free from sexual violence where everyone can live without abuse and its long-term impact.
Initially established as Bristol Rape Crisis in 2008, the specialist mental health charity is dedicated to supporting people of all genders who have experienced rape, sexual assault or any form of sexual abuse at any point in their lives.
All services are free, confidential and anonymous, providing a trauma-informed environment for those aged 13 and over.
In 2025, the charity supported 914 people in person and provided 937 hours of support through its helpline services.

CEO Lorri Weaving said: “My message to anyone who has experienced any form of sexual violence and might be thinking of contacting SARSAS is – you are not alone.
“Whoever you are, whatever your experience, we will hear you, we will believe you and we will walk alongside you in your journey, whatever that looks like for you.”
