Bristol Charity Advent Calendar 2025, day 18: Marmalade Trust
The Marmalade Trust is a charity dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness, working every day to help people make connections and find communities.
Since 2013, they have focused their support in three areas: connection projects, awareness campaigns and providing resources and training.
The team hope to bring joy and companionship to those experiencing loneliness, hosting events like communal Christmas lunches and doorstep visits for those who may not be able to leave their homes.

They also offer ‘Marmalade Connections’ – a phone service supporting isolated individuals which aims to signpost them to beneficial community groups and social activities.
In 2017, Marmalade Trust launched Loneliness Awareness Week.
An annual awareness event every June, the campaign is aimed to “reduce the stigma associated with loneliness”.
The trust also works with businesses, schools and companies, offering practical guides and lesson plans to help people of all ages to better understand loneliness.
