Bristol Charity Advent Calendar 2025, day 14: inHope
Formed 35 years ago in St Paul’s, inHope works to help support vulnerable people across Bristol.
The charity focuses on working with individuals experiencing difficulties including homelessness, food insecurity, addiction, poor mental health and abuse.
Offering services including hot meals, wellbeing sessions and bill reduction plans, they hope to provide a way of life that is “free from injustice and insecurity”.

inHope also facilitates a number of sheltered housing services around the city, including a winter night shelter programme in Bristol churches and a warm venues scheme.
They also offer a specific emergency night shelter for women, providing short-term support or refuge for vulnerable, homeless or ‘hidden homeless’ women.
The team works with agencies to suggest longer-term housing solutions, as well as teaching skills sessions to help with employability.
In the last year, the team at inHope have provided more than 22,000 hot meals to individuals experiencing homelessness, given out over 15,000 food parcels and 2,000 deliveries of essential products like toiletries and sleeping bags.
