The Chilli Daddy trio
Chilli Daddy are having quite some year.
Just a few months after opening their second permanent premises on Baldwin Street (after their original Perry Road restaurant), the Szechuan street food specialists are now opening a third in a former sandwich bar on Queen’s Road.
Don’t expect too many airs and graces. Chilli Daddy don’t hang about when it comes to opening new premises. All they need is a table or two on which to put their stock pots.
But do expect food that saw this family business named as finalists in the BBC’s Food & Farming Awards last year. You can still find them at Wine Street market every Friday – just look for the queues at lunchtime.
The sign only went up above 98 Queen’s Road on Friday, with a sandwich menu still above the counter.
But when peering through the door and asking a workman inside, we were promised that Chilli Daddy would be opening their third premises on Monday, July 27.
