New branding for beer bar
The Strawberry Thief has become Froth & Fries.
Events will be running throughout June “to say goodbye to the Strawberry Thief and welcome in the new era with Froth & Fries”.
The newly rebranded Broad Street bar promises to now be a “beer concept”.
is needed now More than ever
Its website says it is “the new and evolved version” of the Strawberry Thief, which was originally opened in 2014 by the same team behind the former Hare pub on North Street before being taken on by its current owners a couple of years later.
The Strawberry Thief’s name came from a William Morris print that was originally made on the other side of Broad Street in Edward Everard’s printworks.

Writing on Instagram, the Froth & Fries team said: “Same building. Same love of Belgian beer. Same team behind the bar.
“With the delicious, golden, chunky fries to match your glass. Welcome to Froth & Fries.”
