New bar, cafe and venue covered in colourful mural
It’s impossible to miss Last Chance Saloon thanks to a huge mural on two sides of the building painted by Silent Hobo.
The acclaimed Bristol street artist has also painted parts of the interior, which will feature a variety of quirky touches.
The new bar, cafe and venue on Stokes Croft is opening its doors for the first time on Saturday with its general manager Lu Atkinson promising “soul, warmth and a genuine welcome”.
Coffee at Last Chance Saloon will be from Radical Roasters of Easton, beer from Lost & Grounded in St Philip’s and much of the food sourced from Herbivore Deli in Wapping Wharf.
On regular DJing duties will be Mike Savage of Prime Cuts on Gloucester Road, with regularly changing artwork on the walls.
“It’s got a little bit of everything but the best of everything,” said Lu.

The site on the corner of Stokes Croft and Nine Tree Hill was most recently Dynamo Vintage, and previously Cuban restaurant El Jefe Jose and Polish shop Radak.
Last Chance Saloon founder Issy Pritchard has owned the building for more than ten years and said she already feels “quite part of the Stokes Croft community”.
“That’s important to me,” Issy said during a break from building work.
“The love we’ve had from people passing has been really encouraging and I can’t wait to see who’ll be coming in when we open.
“I want it to have a real community feel and be very welcoming, with people excited about having somebody who’s independent and from the area doing something in the area, not a big chain company coming in just to make money.”
