200 free pastel de natas on offer at new plant-based restaurant
A former plant-based Portuguese market stall has found a permanent home in Bristol.
Plantuguese is giving away free pastel de natas to the first 200 customers who reserve a table at their new restaurant on Stokes Croft.
The new restaurant will open on Friday in what was most recently the site occupied by Caribbean Croft, which continues to trade from a few doors down the same road.

Owners and partners, Tiago Goulart and Gerda Juozapavičiūtė, first started trading in Bristol from St Nick’s Market in November 2024.
With “octopus” made from the sea’s harvest of plants, lion’s mane served as steaks and king oyster mushrooms transformed into “scallops” – the new restaurant, Tiago said, hopes to bring Portugal to Bristol “through reimagined plants, flavour and heart”.

Speaking to Bristol24/7, Tiago added: “It feels like we’re planting Portugal in the heart of Bristol — traditions, memories, and love, all retold through plant-based food.”
The new restaurant will open between Italian restaurant The Spaghetti Incident and pan-Asian diner Tuk Tuck.
In an Instagram post announcing their upcoming restaurant, the duo said: “If you’ve followed us for a while, you’ll know we started as a humble market stall, cooking up plates that made food feel like home.
“We’ve shared stories, served smiles and built a little community around good food and even better company.
“Now it’s time to find a new home, in the heart of Bristol.”
