Father and daughter duo open new brunch cafe
A father and daughter duo have opened a new cafe after years of dreaming to create something that “brings people together”.
Billie Mountain and her stepfather Dave Brayley are the co-owners of Billie’s, which opened on the junction of Gloucester Road and Merton Road on Wednesday.
The new cafe has opened within the site of the Deck cafe and restaurant, which closed at the end of November 2025.

The new cafe opened on the junction of Gloucster Road and Merton Road in what was most recently the Deck cafe and restaurant
Speaking to Bristol24/7, Billie said: “It’s been my dream to open a cafe for years.
“I started out in London where I opened a deli sandwich shop with my brother, and that’s where I realised I wanted to do something bigger one day.”
For years after this, Billie continued to manage several brunch spots so she could learn the “real ins and outs” of running a business.
“I wanted to make sure that when I did open my own place, I was ready. Now it finally feels like the right time to take the leap,” she added.
“My step dad Dave is in the music business, and between us we’ve always wanted to create something that brings people together.”
Chunky focaccia sandos, homemade soups, fresh salads, cakes are some of the dishes people can expect from the cafe, other than a separate breakfast and brunch menu.
Coffee at the new cafe has been supplied by Bristol-based roasters Wogan.
Billie added: “This café is a family business, and we’re really focused on community and supporting local traders.
“It’s important to us that it feels welcoming and independent — somewhere people genuinely want to spend time.
“This has been a long time coming, and we’re so excited to finally make it happen.”
