Cafe owners ‘devastated’ after latest break-in

By Betty Woolerton  Monday May 11, 2026

The owners of a cafe are “devastated” after a burglary has marked the latest of several incidents since opening just a few months ago.

Police were called to the break-in at Two Ways Coffee & Bakes on Bond Street in the early hours of Monday morning.

The thief smashed his way into the cafe and took some soft drinks.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, criminal damage and assault.

Walter Molinaro and Seda Ozgul, who also run Two Ways on Queen’s Avenue off the Clifton Triangle, said they were alerted to the incident by their intruder alarm.

“As this site is cashless, we assume the intruders were looking for money without realising there was none to find,” the pair told Bristol24/7.

“They left with some soft drinks and a big mess for us to clean up.

“It is frustrating to face such major damage, especially since we have only been open for a few months and have already had to report multiple incidents to the police.

“We work incredibly hard to build this business, so setbacks like this are very disheartening.

“However, we have received many supportive messages from customers and friends, which has been truly heartwarming during this time.”

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said the arrested man remains in custody.

It comes as another burglary was reported at Sandwich Sandwich on Queen’s Road in Clifton.

A staff member told Bristol24/7 that a man is believed to have entered the premises through a rear window and was discovered asleep by employees arriving to open the shop on Monday morning.

The intruder reportedly stole a can of Coke and urinated inside the sandwich shop.

Anyone with any information about the Clifton break-in is asked to call 101 using the reference 5226128435, while anybody with information or relevant CCTV from around the time of the Two Ways incident can quote 5226128384.
