Bristol street food traders cater for England rugby team
Smoky flavours from one of Bristol’s most-loved barbecue joints made their way to the training base of the England rugby team.
Kins Pelletier and Nathan Ritchie of Big Nath’s BBQ said that the opportunity to cater for the national rugby team at their base in Bagshot in Surrey was a “real highlight”, one that neither of them could fully process.
Featuring smoked brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, chicken wings, mac and cheese and slaw, the menu was unsurprisingly protein-heavy—what Kins described as “proper fuel for the squad”.

Will Trollope from Clevedon FC, which Kins and Nathan say is their “first favourite team”, went along for the duo’s special day
Kins told Bristol24/7: “We were called up last week to cater for the England rugby squad at Pennyhill Park in Bagshot.
“All thanks to our Bristol boy Ellis Genge, who’s been a regular at Big Nath’s BBQ for a while now.
“We’ve fed the Bristol Bears boys a few times in the past too, so it felt like a natural next step.
“The feedback was incredible. Hopefully not the last time we’re cooking for the team.”
Estbablished during lockdown, Big Nath’s quickly became a hit at street food markets across Bristol.
In addition to their Texan-style barbecue dishes, the duo are known for spice rubs, sauces and more recently a barbecue school based at their headquarters in Backwell.
